Assembly

The Barnett Wildcat C5 is shipped in a heavy cardboard box divided in two sections: riser+limbs and stock, therefore assembly is pretty straightforward. I recommend to lubricating the cables and string prior to assembly as the stock is rather wide in the cable area and once the crossbow is mounted the cable portion that contacts the stock (with the interposition of a self lubricant strip) is difficult to reach.

Get a firm grip on the stock upside down and insert the cables into the cable slot, there is no cable saver as a plain strip of low friction material is already applied into the cable slot to prevent cable wear.

Pull the riser assembly until the centering pins on the stock mate with the riser and use the supplied Allen screw to hold the two sections together.

Now you can mount the peep and pin sight. The pins are first mounted on the bridge (heavy metal part) that goes on the top of the riser, held in place by two screws. The peep sight is a plastic piece that slides into the weaver rail (also plastic) on top of the trigger box.
